    please all members owning a Fiat car from Omatra
    I have opened this thread to tell our opinion in omatra and advantages and disadvantages to be a guide for Omatra CEO (Mr.Novasio) and other Managers there
    and please make it in that form

    disadvantages of omatra:

    1- Car Service is extremely slow
    2- Spare parts are slightly over priced compared to other models, like VW and Opel
    3- Spare parts that is not in regular maintenance most of the time are not available, e.g. brakes and front window
    4- No accessories, I asked for cruise control, Omatra answer was it will cost you more than the car price which is not a professional answer.
    5- Warranty is illusion (3 incidents happened, 1st brake discs are not considered under warranty and it was requested to be changed at 50 000, 2nd car horn is considered user error, 3rd steering wheel leather was torn and Omatra notified me it is under the warranty items and was covered by a cheap material which is not leather
    6- Car spare parts are requested to be changed before the time specified in the warranty book I received with the car (e.g time belt and other belts are written to be changed at 120 000 in the book, Omatra says it must be changed at 40 000 or my warranty will be void.
    7- I am still using the brakes and discs that was requested to be changed at 50 000 by Omatra and my car now has done 75000 and the brake sensor did not ..... me to change the brakes.
    8- Some people who work in the agency treat customer in a bad way, as if I am working for them not as a customer ( this is not happening at the moment)

    advantages of omatra:

    - Good Reception
    - Some individual engineers efforts (not all of them)

    disadvantages of omatra:
    1. Sales & Marketing department:
    - Very very very weak marketing (you rarely find a tiny newspaper advertisement) not to mention 0 TV Commercials or Radio!
    - Weird import policy (The Palio was imported from Brazil,Then stopped suddenly ! then resumed again from China, Then stopped then resumed (larger model) now from Turkey!) making spare parts harder and harder to match and find !
    - Weak engine selection for the Punto (Grand/Evo) only offered with 1.4L 8v engine with 77hp while most competitors are offered with engines producing over 100hp.
    - they opened in 2006 and now we are almost at 2012 and we have yet to see an official Website !
    - When I purchased the car in 2006, the Warranty was hilarious ! 1 Year Only ! I have $10 consumer products that comes with better warranty! and later on they informed that they extended the warranty to 3 Years,I was thrilled, Went there to find that I have to pay a Sum of 3500 LE ($590) to be included !

    2. Service Center & Maintenance:
    - Overpriced spare parts and Maintenance (compared to other brands)
    - Unprofessional engineers and technicians (most of them, and the ones who are performing better only out of personal issues or friendship)
    - The body repair & paint department is the worst I've seen
    - Unavailability of some basic spare parts and takes a horrific amount of time to be available again
    (2-3 months)
    - They rarely complete the required job either repair or Maintenance on schedule
    - When accused of doing something wrong, it's always the customers fault or something that the CUSTOMER can't understand, they do nothing wrong
    - IF I arrive at the service center with a list of problems. most of them get unsolved and they would ask to come visit later because they have too much work pressure on the center, thus meaning another separate bill and another wasted day !

    I was thinking of buying a new Punto Evo, but after the above mentioned disadvantages,I really don't think that this excellent car is worthy of all the trouble I am going to have with Omatra.

    And honestly this is the advice I give to anyone who asks me about one, Excellent car, Horrible Dealer
    !

    Advantages of Omatra: N/A
    Disadvantages of Omatra:
    - Unclear marketing and pricing policy.
    - Very bad reputation that affects the decision of buying a new Fiat for new customers and affects the resale price for Fiat owners, which means that who wants to buy a Fiat should take his own risk.
    - Unavailable stock especially for new Linea models and many people when they see my car they say that we wish to buy one but the dealership says that this model is unavilable.
    - spare parts are not available comprehensively even the critical spares especially with accredited dealerships, and slightly expensive.
    - Maintainance schedules in Egypt are not compatible to Europe or even India especially with items like belts (changed in Egypt on 40,000 Km basis wish adds toomuch cost on customers), and other items such as braking discs and Pads.

    -I also found that the anti rust and the painting of the car is very bad and doesn't have the quality we used to see in fiat cars

    For Example Toyota Egypt carried out a very succesful maintenace campaign last summer, and I was so lucky when I discoverd that day one of the campaign was the same day I booked to do the regular 40 K maintenance for my yaris, I remember that I took an overall discount of 10 % Plus they checked the belts and changed only one and said the other two condtion is good and no need to change them, I could not believe it , I paid after all about only 1000 LE which was good, I wish that Omatra performance would be even 70% of Toyota Egypt some day, Fiat deserves better that this I Presume

    * omatra is center only in cairo and very far Until now.
    *Maintenance manager is Mistreatment with customers and bad reputation.

    *Some engineers are not interested in the car repaired and the absence of conscience

    Damaged the rear glass and went to the maintenance and they reserve the car for a week and watched them have moved it.... to The absence of conscience

    Failure in the brakes (manufacturing defect) and the defected brakes didn't go back to Italy to be examined after an accident occurred because of that failure!!!-
    .Ps. OMATRA fixed the car on its expense*
    .Unexplained car errors and their answer nothing on the examiner-
    .Doing the work with the least quality they can provide-
    .Unavailable spare-parts regardless the exaggerated prices-
    .100LE per labor hour!!! (Taking in mind the points mentioned before…)-

    Thanks God my evo is great now and I’m approaching the 10.000klm and no need to step in OMATRA these days : )
