    • Pre-Crash Safety System

    Collisions are the most common form of traffic accidents. Most of them occur due to carelessness, such as not keeping one’s eyes on the road or sleeping at the wheel. The Pre-Crash Safety System was developed to prevent accidents like these from occurring and minimize shocks and damage stemming from collisions.


    The new Move model, which went on sale in October 2006, contains sensor-fusion technology, which combines a laser radar excelling in measuring distances from the likely object of collision and an image processing system excelling in recognizing the shape of that object. This was the first time in the world that this technology was offered on a light vehicle. This enabled better recognition of the car driving in front, achieving faster, more accurate danger detection.



    Approaching car in front (ample avoidance)

    The laser radar detects the car in front while driving. When the system judges that there is a possibility of collision as it nears the car in front, it emits an audio and visual warning, after which it physically warns the driver through a gentle pulling of the driver’s seatbelt.



    Getting closer (reaching avoidance limit)

    If the driver uses the brakes, the system assists the braking and helps slow the car down. The driver’s seatbelt is also given a strong tug.



    Difficult to avoid collision (unable to avoid collision)

    Automatic braking occurs. Collision shock and damage is minimized through strong pulling of driver and passenger seat seatbelts.





    TAF


    Safety functions that protect car occupants in case of an accident are an essential condition in choosing an automobile. Daihatsu uses TAF, a Total Advanced Function body that keeps occupant damage to a minimum. Platforms for the new Move and Mira models that went on sale in 2002 were completely renewed. By using collision-dispersing body structure and strong but thin high-tension steel sheet collision-absorption functions were improved. A solid cabin and a more lightweight vehicle were also made possible through TAF, which continues to evolve.

    Collision-safety experiment

    A crash experiment based on the highest world standards at frontal full lap 55 km/h, frontal offset 64 km/h, side 55 km/h. At all angles, the test proved there was ample survival space inside the car.


    Vehicle-to-vehicle crash test


    Results of a frontal-collision and side-collision crash test using a car heavier than the car being tested, with both running at 50 km/h, proved there was ample survival space and a high level of occupant protection.


    A body that minimizes pedestrian injury.

    A body that minimizes pedestrian injury has been used so that it can be utilized in case of an accident involving pedestrians. By creating a collision-defusing device and absorption space in the hood, fender, hood hinge and wiper pivot areas, pedestrian-protection functions have been heightened. The new Miragino has cleared the “Pedestrian Head Protection Standard,” a first for light vehicles. The Standard was set in motion by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as of September 2005.

    The SRS Curtain Shield Air Bag is activated when there is strong impact on either side of the vehicle. Air bags embedded in the front pillar and roof expand to cover the side of the front passengers’ head area, thus easing shock to the head. SRS Side Air Bags are activated at the same time, thus easing shock to the chests of front seat passengers.The SRS Curtain Shield Air Bag is activated when there is strong impact on either side of the vehicle.     Activated upon strong impact from the front of the vehicle, the system eases heavy impact to the head and chest of people in the driver’s seat and passenger seat.



    Depending on the type of collision, there are instances where passengers may experience secondary shock from striking the roof. To address this, we have implemented a resin rib structure to the interior of the front, center and quarter pillars. The roof side rail is equipped with a honeycomb structure, thus easing shock to the head



    When there is impact at medium to slow speed from the rear of the car, passengers’ backs are pushed into their seats. We have used this action to move the headrest forward, thus easing shock to the jaw.



    When a strong impact is detected, the seatbelt is immediately wound up through the pre-tensioner system, which heightens primary restriction on the passenger. When the load on the seatbelt exceeds a certain level, it maintains that level and brings the seatbelt out to ease shock to the chest. This is the force remitter system that is used in the front seatbelts.




    For the rear left and right seatbelts, the amount of belt that can be pulled out has been limited, thus enabling easy fitting of child seats. This is the three-point ELR seatbelt system.


    *1 SOFI stands for Safety-Oriented Friendly Interior. It is an interior that is friendly and safe for passengers. The safety features in SOFI differ by car type and grade.*2 Stands for Supplemental Restraint System. Refers to supplemental protection system for passengers.





    VSC


    No matter how safely one is driving, at times, cars become unexpectedly unstable for reasons such as icy turns and sudden steering maneuvers to avoid pedestrians that suddenly appear. The VSC *1 system supports safe driving, turning and stopping in all types of situations, stabilizing the vehicle. VSC consists of the three following functions:
    ABS prevents tire lockage caused by sudden braking. This system secures vehicle stability and steering wheel control.
    TCS controls tire slippage upon starting and accelerating. This system secures driving power.
    The third function is the side-slippage control system, which controls side slippage by adjusting engine output and braking, thus preventing slippage and spins upon turning corners.
    VCS uses sensors to detect car movement and uses ABS, TCS and side-slippage control systems to prevent accidents before they occur.



    By preventing wheels from locking upon sudden braking, this system secures vehicle stability and steering wheel control. The rudder sensor information improves braking function when turning corners.




    When road conditions differ for the left and right wheel upon starting, engine drive power is allotted to the tire that tends to slip. In order to prevent this, the system activates braking on the slipping tire and allots driving power to the other tire. The information from the rudder sensor and yaw rate improves turning functions upon turning corners.




    When actual yaw rate is lacking for driver steering, VSC perceives this as under-steering. In this case, braking is activated for the inner rear wheel, thus creating momentum for the deficient yaw rate and preventing side slippage of the front wheel.





    When there is an excess in the actual yaw rate for driver steering, VSC perceives this as over-steering. In this case, braking is activated for the outer front wheel, thus creating outward momentum. This prevents side slippage of the rear wheel.

    لا كل انظمة الأمان دي موجوده في عربيات دايهاتسو
    يمكن مفيش غير Vsc ده موجود بس مش في كل الموديلات
    والرادار ده بتاع الطريق مش موجود

    اما موضوع الهيكل والتدعيم بتاعه فده في اساس الصناعه وموجود في كل العربيات
    والاير باجز بس مش بتوع الجوانب
