Proton Satria Neo Super 2000 Rally Car
Proton Satria Neo Super 2000 Rally Car
Proton Satria Neo has been adopted by the successful
MEM World Rally Team.
A bare chassis was sent to MEM in their UK stronghold where they developd the car into an
S2000 compliant beastie. The MEM prepared Satria Neo went straight to 3rd fastest in the first stage of Rally Ireland, ahead of WRC champion Sebastian Loeb in the Citroen C4.
This is amazing as the S2000 class naturally aspirated Satria Neo, built from a production motor, more than held its own against the fully turbo charged big budget WRC greats.
There are some cool videos of the car on YouTube.
Rally of Scotland Proton driver Alister McRae has given Proton its first ever podium finish in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge by taking third place in the Rally of Scotland in the MEM S2000 Satria Neo. McRae is delighted with the performance of the car and is looking forward to 2010 campaigns in IRC and the FIA Asia-Pacific Championship. He says, "The Proton chassis is one of the best I have ever driven."
