Toyota released at the end of last week the details, images and a presentation video of the updated 2012 Tacoma pickup truck. The styling chages brought by the 2012 Toyota Tacoma are minimal, and include a slightly modified front bumper, a new grille and hood and re-styled headlamps. At the interior, the 2012 Tacoma features a center console, new instruments and a new steerign wheel. The 2012 Tacoma's center console now features air conditioning and heater controls together with power point locations. Toyota's 2012 Tacoma Access and Double Cab now come with a heavy-duty all-weather floor. The high performaqnce



version of the pick-up, the 2012 Tacoma TRD Sport, together with its Off-Road version, are now equipped with a water resistant upholstery. The 2012 Toyota Tacoma 2.7L is powered by a 2.7-liter inline 4-cylinder, DOHC 16-valve engine with VVT-i, which outputs 159 hp at 5,200 rpm and 180 lb-ft of torque at 3,800 rpm. The 2012 Tacoma 2.7L is available with either a 5-speed manual transmission or a 4-speed ECT automatic gearbox and it has a payload of 1,385 lbs in the PreRunner Access Cab version. It's maximum towing weight is rated at 3,500 lbs.

Other novelties brought by the 2012 Toyota Tacoma include a larger, 3.3-inch higher-resolution display a new temperature gauge, a rear-view mirror with compass and HomeLink and additional storage compartments.
