If you're not ready to upgrade your current system to include a second amp and back surround speakers, you'll still be able to enjoy plenty of 5.1-channel home theater thrills, thanks to built-in Dolby Digital and DTS decoding. Dolby Pro Logic II processing even transforms stereo and Pro Logic sources into exciting 5.1 sound. And with 80 watts x 5 channels of amplification, you'll have plenty of power to fill a large room with dynamic multichannel sound. For DVD-Audio, SACD, and other cutting-edge formats, "Ultrasonic Response" amplification (flat all the way out to 100,000 Hz!) delivers superb clarity and impact.
The remote is a 2-way LCD design that can download and display information from the receiver. This brainy remote even emits RF (radio frequency) signals, for easy system control from another room. And thanks to the VR-5080's dual-source/dual-room capability, you and a housemate can enjoy two different A/V sources simultaneously; just connect the Zone B outputs (stereo audio plus composite video) to an amp, speakers, and TV in another room.
