When crashed, Chery’s SRS (in-car air bag) not even worked for once
On the night of January 17th, 2009, my younger brother, Jinguang Du, was driving a Chery Tiggo (License Number: 蒙GC2388) in the northern China. There were four people on the car, and I sat on the front beside my brother.
At about 20:40, we didn’t realize that a turn was in front of us until too late. Though my brother tried his best to avoid an accident, the wheel still skidded, and the car slipped from the road and crashed with trees along side the road. Three trees were cracked down in this accident. This crash was due to thin cream covering on the road, limited sight during night and no signal at all about the turn。
The car speed was around 110km/h when crash happened and three large trees were broken down from almost bottom. However, both air bags for driver and co-driver did not pop out for once.
While my younger brother died on the spot, my head was hurt and other two were injured as well. When I found Chery to negotiate the compensation issue, rather than carrying the responsibility they should take, Chery denied the car’s quality problem by stating the crashing level was not enough for air bag to pop out. Instead, they were only willing to pay a little amount of money under ‘humanitarian consideration’.
Chery knows its cars have serious quality problem, but trying to hide these problems to consumers. Thus, they tried everything to prevent me to recover the truth to the public.
1. They told my younger brother’s wife that they would give all the ‘humanitarian’ compensation to her if she dismiss the case from court. Moreover, they tried to separate my family by threatening her that my family would not give her a penny from the compensation.
2. They even threatened my mother to dismiss the case from court. They said Chery would finally win because of their strong financial and technique power. They tried to force my mother to accept their so-called ‘humanitarian assistance’ and not to mention the words like product quality and compensation again.
3. On April 13, 2009, under the name of negotiation, Chery brought contract to my lawyer’s office to invite him to be Chery’s legal advisor. My lawyer rejected them firmly.
4. Chery found my relatives to persuade me to drop the case. Chery even found my mother’s colleagues from her work place before retirement to persuade my family to drop the case.
Chery’s movement in the past several months clearly showed that they did not want public to know their cars’ quality problem. Hereby, I inform the public to notice Chery’s car problem and do not make the same mistake as I did, which is driving a Chery car.

This was a tiggo from China....imagine what the Tiggo here would do.....
the guy lost his brother.....and the Tiggo has Airbags and guess what....???!!!! it did not work!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is everyone still too happy or still backing up the chinese cars......???!!!!!!!
