Addressing The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA)
Like millions watched last night (November 18th, 2009) the final "World Cup" qualifying match between Egypt and Algeria was simply out of all bounds, it was not about football, it was not about competition, it was down right animalistic, barbaric, and should not be accepted on any logical grounds.
The weeks leading up to the first match (November 14th, 2009) which took place in Cairo, Egypt, had a lot of controversy arising from the Algerian fans claiming that they had a number of casualties after the match.
Algerian fans went out to the streets all over the world to create chaos and havoc after losing their match with Egypt on Saturday (November 14th), and that was not the end of it. After the teams faced each other for the second time with the Algerian team winning the match 1-0, the Algerian fans who where holding sharp blades and other forms of weaponry through out the match, went out after Egyptian buses and started literally destroying them. Those buses where suppose to transport Egyptian fans to the airport for their flights back home.
Algerian fans didn't only throw rocks and other things at the buses, but also where beating the buses with bats, sticks and other objects, resulting in a lot of serious injuries for Egyptian fans.
The Algerians were not satisfied with winning, it was very obvious that this is not about the match, it was NOT about the World Cup, it was simply about a grudge.
How could fans be allowed into the stadium armed? How could they break into shops in Paris and other cities around the world? Egyptian buses left the stadium 2 hours before the Algerian buses where suppose to leave, but the Algerians went out after the Egyptians as soon as the game was over anyway.
Several warnings where flying around the night before the match, but people had high hopes in the Sudanese forces capabilities in keeping the match calm, the blame will not completely fall on the hosting country Sudan, other then the fact that it was obvious in such situations the counties police will not be able to withstand such riots.
Algeria sent over 10,000 fans which later was revealed that none of which where actually working class civilians of the country, but people with criminal records (murderers, drug dealers, thugs, etc) all coming not to watch the game, but to simply ATTACK! the Egyptian people.
How is it accepted that a World Cup qualifying match is taking place while one of the teams fans are all holding weapons, waiting for the moment to attack the opposing team's fans?
We the undersigned demand a review of the whole incident that took place on November 18th, 2009 in Omdurman, Sudan, and to Cancel Algeria's qualifying rights to the World Cup.
What happened last night, goes against all human rights, and freedom of speech, it is a down right Barbaric, racist, uncivilized act of hatred and something must be done. Sincerely,
