I do have the car since May 2006- 42,000km, and it's wonderful in terms of performance, stability and options. And they improve its finishing quality every year.
Its price is actually the biggest motivation behind getting it. My opinion is that Proton is the only brand that is not overpriced in Egypt. I do not know about the other roadstar cars you are referrign to, but it is still a 1600cc-engine car. Its maintainance costs are reasonable, and not expensive when compared with other cars at this price range
Ezz el Arab is not perfect; but is still very good. It is just usually very crowded.
This is just my experience and you may find more about the pros and cons of the car by other people in the Proton room in the forum.
Hope this helps and feel free to ask any specific questions (Sorry for typing in English but I have no Arabic keyboard right now)
Good luck:)
