الشاسيه لانسر لاكن الموتور هيكون بروتون لسه مش عارف التعليق هيكون لانسر ولا لا بس دا مش شغل صيني كوبي و بيست دا اتفاقيه تعاون بين الشركتين لان بروتون كانت هتلغي الواجا اساسا بس لانهم مشغولين في r&d لموديلات تانيه فوصلوا لحل انهم ياخدوا شاسيه اللانسر و توفير الـ r&d بتاع الواجا لانها العربيه الشعبيه الاولي في ايران :)

The new Waja is essentially a badge engineered Mitsubishi Lancer and this particular car clearly already has the Proton nose applied on it as the front end is completely taped up.
You can see some horizontal bars on the front grille like the ones found on the Persona and the Exora though, so the family resemblance is definitely there.

Well.. the collaboration is part of proton efforts of cost control. Proton, for the past 3 – 4 years has been reorganizing its product lines in order to have greater cost efficiency. One of its efforts are to have collaboration with Mistubishi for its waja/perdana replacement model. By doing this, Proton can tackle the 1.8 – 2.0 liter market segment and at the same time put in more effort in developing its saga/persona/exora platforms (note.. not models.. but platforms).

Developing cars from scratch is not cheap (installing the turbo module onto the current campro engine cost Proton RM80 mil by the way… so you can imagine how much is needed to develop a waja or perdana-like model). And having too many platforms to develop at the same time would complicate matters further at the expense of quality.
