Right, Hey All!

This 'How2'/Guide will hopefully show you how to apply the rear door seals found on the CDX models to your car. Its not too difficult, with a bit of time and confidence youll get on fine :) So lets get started! First off, heres some seals to show you what they look like, as youll need a pair with inserts!

Okeydokey, lets go!

Tools Needed

Drill
4mm ....l Drill Bit
Mallet
Sillicon Sealant / Matching Colour Pen

The Guide

Righto, first off open the back doors and look down the outer side, you will notice small pin head indents all the way down the curve of the door, there should be 9 in total. Watch not to confuse them with the other indents, as I mentioned the ones you are after are like a prod from a pin. In this picture some of them are circled in green:

Now, carefully drill into these indents with the 4mm bit - keeping the drill flush to the ....l as best you can. (start of slow and gradually build up speed as the drill bit digs in) Try not to wiggle the drill too much either, you dont want to make the hole too big! Also be carefully once you break through the ....l not to drill too much into the other side :D

Reapet for all 9 spots down the door, once finished it should a little like this:

If, like my doors, they are a bit dirty now is the time to give them a quick clean-up especially at the areas around the holes. (this is so the silicon/paints bonds well to the ....l, and not the dirt :D) Once thats done, you can either use a touch-up paint pen or silicon sealant (clear) to act as an anti-rust barrier. Or, if you have your own prefered method, use that now! This is how mine looked at this point:

Nearly done now! As you go to push in each insert from the seals, you may notice it can be a tight fit, this is where you may need to use the mallet. If you do then gently hold the seal to the door, align up the hole to the plastic insert and gently tap on the back of the seal. After one or two taps the insert should go in and feel nice and solid due to the tight fit!

Again, repeat these steps for the rest of the seal inserts untill the whole seal is firmly inplace! Once done, wipe away any excess paint/silicon, stand back and admire your new seals! :D

Job done! Obviously you will have to repeat for the other door but I'm sure you've worked that one out yourself lol :D

If you have any comments, suggestions, complaints etc. pass them on!

Cheers.
