Does adding Acetone to fuel increase mileage ?

while surfing on the internet i found some resources and pages talking about adding Acetone to fuel to increase mileage and power. any one here knows more ? to whome whow wo dont . please check those links and lets open a discussion regarding this issue as it might benifit many of us. i am really interested in trying it myself and i am ready to take the risk of trying. who knows ?

now for the real world ... where can we get pure acetone in Egypt and how much does it cost??

you can buy acetone from any pharmacy for 4LE

they say that acetone can be found in pharmacies and paint store. by the way most of people concerns were abeallyout swelling of rubber materials in the fuel chain. but i think 1 ml in 1 litre is not that much as a quantiity to affect the engine parts. on the website there are some ideas to measure the power addition if any also by running fixed distance 5 times and taking average time before and after adding the acetone.

this was a very old myth i tried it before but i cant sense any good results
the problem is acetone MAY be harmful to the piston rings it depends on the piston rings material

i say try it yourself and tell me the results
and take care to use around ~ 1ml acetone for 1litre of petrol

maybe this happened 'cause you used the wrong amount... it is said that you should use 0.78CC per liter and you are using way less amount to do anything noticeable
