Letting an engine idle from cold to warm it up is one of the worst things you can do - the oil is at its tickest, the pressure from the pump is at its lowest, and pressure on the valve train components is at it's highest when cold/idling. Plus it will take much longer to reach optimum working temp

The best thing is to start it up and drive off immediately, but don't rag it

Plus check with your insurance before (if) you fit on, as most don't like remote starter
