Dear Nile motors members this is my 1st post here and I'd like to congratulate u on an excellent forum.......for the original question first I'd like to bring some information for your knowledge --sorry I can't type in Arabic since my pc doesn't have it--
The Ford focus and the mazda 3 are sister cars they're based on the same chasis and suspenion although each car gets different tunings....Ford owns Mazda this is why they share parts...the motors and dashboard are NOT shared by the way....
I have owned the ford focus ghia for 3 months now....and I absolutely love this car ... and i have driven a LOT of cars...
so let me sum up the focus experience: in short it is a DRIVER'S car..., if u love cars if u love driving then u will love the focus the only bad side for me is the auto transmission if they offered a manual it would have been much better, but as it is it's still much better than the rest...this car is all about handling and feedback, you are connected to the road the car makes u feel in control, the steering is very alert, the grip levels are very high -205/55 16 inch michellin tires as standard- but what is most important is what happens when the tyre grip is about to end this is where the Ford magic begins...., I have driven cars with oversized tyres where u find a ton of grip but once u have overstepped it u r in a ton of trouble..Not the focus as its advanced suspension does not allow the car to float or the back to suddenly push wide...everything happens in a very predictabe manner.... The people who love driving will know what I'm talking about..
As for the engine, i have read a lot of comments here saying that the engine is too weak for the car....NO the engine is ok it is the auto trasnmission that makes the initial pick up and go very slow....the engine it self is wonderfull, when u test drive a focus try to keep the engine in its power band -from 4000 to 6000 RPM- and u'll know how good that engine is and yes it is a revvy peaky engine...
what else?...the build and finish quality is very good no dash rattles or squweeks, the agents are very good they seem to understand the car which is rare in Egypt.
So to end things I'd like to say that car lovers will understand the focus once they get to drive and push the car to the limits, if u drive her slowly then u'll get a very ordinary car but once u have the mood to go...she will reveal her talents. don't take my word only...the focus is the number one car in the UK in her segment.
