well... i was more focused on traditional 4 bangers and those got no space issues... at least not like the V8s
i wasn't reffering to that by pass valve... that is used on cars with CAI to avoid hydrolock in case you drove into a puddle or so... i was reffering to the bypass valve on a turbo setup... it is similar to the BOV but the main difference is that it dumps air into the turbo tubing rather than into air
this gives more system effecency as you use all the compressed air rather than dumping it into the atmospher and also it reduces lag a bit as the compressed air is fed to the turbo turbine and thus allowing it to keep its speed a bit longer and that gives the turbo beter responce time when the driver steps on the throttle once again
only point to take into considiration is that if you are using a bypass va;ve on an engine with a MAF or air mass meter then the return point of the air should be past the air mass meter or else the air mass will "count" the same amount of air twice and the engine managment will be disrupted
