    Sorry for the late reply

I want to clear a thing that I support this as long as the engine bays are difficult for the traditional setups but as for the 350z....I really find it absurd as there are other traditional kits which are cost and performance effective rather than rear mounted one's

About lag ....You don't really notice it on big V8's, plenty of engine displacement to move a lot of air though the long pipes. Also The turbos are set up quite a bit differently from a traditional setup and it all but eliminates lag. Spool-up time is quick and they (STS) try to compensate for the distance by reducing the diameter of the piping, thus increasing the response time

Isn't the bypass valve just a flapper that remains closed unless the filter starts to suck up something heavier than air?l

well... i was more focused on traditional 4 bangers and those got no space issues... at least not like the V8s

i wasn't reffering to that by pass valve... that is used on cars with CAI to avoid hydrolock in case you drove into a puddle or so... i was reffering to the bypass valve on a turbo setup... it is similar to the BOV but the main difference is that it dumps air into the turbo tubing rather than into air

this gives more system effecency as you use all the compressed air rather than dumping it into the atmospher and also it reduces lag a bit as the compressed air is fed to the turbo turbine and thus allowing it to keep its speed a bit longer and that gives the turbo beter responce time when the driver steps on the throttle once again

only point to take into considiration is that if you are using a bypass va;ve on an engine with a MAF or air mass meter then the return point of the air should be past the air mass meter or else the air mass will "count" the same amount of air twice and the engine managment will be disrupted

I'm so sorry again for my late reply, my internet connection was down for almost a week and I was browsing the forum only through the mobile or briefly during the work

I'm glad you got my point and the objective of those systems. It was really a pleasure having a conversation with a guy of such forced induction background like you. Thanks :)l

thats the beauty of conversations of that sort

i know the advantage of such setup but my personal liking doesn't lean towards them... i wouldn't go for such setup unless it is extreamly necessary... and would charge double my feed :)
