HOW DOES IT WORK?
THIS LITTLE, SIMPLE TO FIT DEVICE WILL MODIFY YOUR ECU, TELLING IT THAT THE AIR INTAKE IS 2 DEGREES COOLER. THE IGNITION THEN ADVANCES BY 2 DEGREES GIVING YOU MORE POWER AND INCREASING TORQUE.
0r
It will modify any standard ECU by telling the ECU that the incoming air in the intake system is cold and so advances the ignition by up to 2 degrees with more fuelling to compensate, therefore producing more power. In many cases fuel economy is increased too. Power is increased by up to 15BHP and torque is increased significantly.

their claims are total bullshit
their is no sufficient oxygen in the air to burn the extra fuel being dumped to the engine so the car will simply run rich... the O2 sensor will detect this richness and will lean out the mixture to get back to 14.7 A/F and accordingly the ignition will be retarded
as a basic rule: modifications based on fooling sensors are worthless

An aftermarket chip or module is designed to change your engine management, things like how much fuel to burn at certain revs, feul map etc. The chip will directly effect the cars computer and change the engine settings. When a manufacturer produces a car they have to comply with things like emissions standards, a desired feul economy and a given engine lifespan. As a result the engine you get in a car from the manufacturer does not run at it's maximum potential in terms of brake horsepower. If the correct chip is chosen there may not be too many detrimental effects. They will in general reduce your miles per gallon and in some cases reduce the life span of the engine. However if performance and fun are what you are after then these things should not weigh too heavily on your mind. You have to accept that more power\fun means more cost.

i fully agree with what you said but always remember that their is a very big difference between using a piggy back or a stand alone management system and fooling around with sensors
with a tool like SMT7 you actually change how much fuel is being dumped into the engine and when to burn it... this is called remapping
with the above mentioned chip you are just fooling the ECU to operate on the wrong part of the OEM fuel map so you are not actually gaining any power
