الموضوع: what is the best car in terms of tunning ease and versatility. BMW or GOLF ?

light car + big engine
for example
800KG golf 1 + a tuned 12v VR6 (200HP)

power to weight ratio =0.25
same ratio as a new e92 m3 !!!

same story with 205 mi16

everything is tunable .. even the old fiat 1100 2erda is tunable ..
you should consider your budget first , then choose between FRONT wheel drive and REAR wheel drive .
i personally preffer BMW E30 because its REAR wheel drive . and that gives you room in the engine bay to even swap a V12 if you like .
you can find anything you want as used imported parts . and they differ in quality - condition - price so you have to know who imports good parts and who has good prices .
as for turbocharge the engine , thats hard here in egypt considering that there arent any DYNO's here in egypt , beside that you havent anyone here who can tune and modify an injection system . you can always buy a supercharged engine or turbocharged but they are rare ..
in BMW you have many options for engine swaps , you just have to know the right combinition and what to buy ..
by that i mean : if you get yourself an E30 , and want to swap a 24v 6cyl 2500cc black engine , you have to get one from the 525i , not the 325i , because of the oilpan , it wont fit then.
you have to know wich model of the engine to buy , if you want a 2.5l 6cyl 24v , you have to buy the one out of an 1990-1994 car , so you can get it OBD I and with an iron block engine . (M50)
regarding turbocharging an engine , you have to know if it has Forged internals , and what CR the engine has . thats if you can take care of the injection system.
i personally recommend buying an BMW , keep the original look , and play in Mechanism as much as you like

man thats a very interesting conclusion. do u know how much does it cost that GOLF and is it available in egypt or at least the motor ? but i think it is better to get it with the motor because if you put the motor then you will need to upgrade the suspension and the brakes and may be the clutch too. what about BMW M3 ? is it available here and how much does it cost for examble model 1990-2000 ? or post 2000 even ( i like this shape )

for ramy actually i am not planning for it in the near future as i have other priorities but insha2lah in the future i am willing to spend from 150 to 200 sawsan :)
