لو سمحتلي اسألك سؤال بخصوص الوالدة
52 old female,no diabetes or hypertension complaining of chronic red eye especially if stressed (very nervous),every time visiting doctors saying it is allergic conjunctivitis
she used visine, presoline blue, epichrom, and sometimes mixture of short course of cortisone with antibiotics
recently, about 1 month ago redness was not reliefed although these medications, blurring vision also,
we went to another ophthalmologist, measured i.o.p and was (24) at night,he suspected glucoma, and asked for visual field,he detected also white scales saying it is infection(usually passes to her from a young child!),fundus examination was normal
is it glucoma?
and how times should we measure i.o.p and exam fundus again?

ألف سلامة على الوالدة
Regarding her condition, from my point of view we have a serious problem which is "Idiosyncrasy", which is drug induced allergy
This problem occurs mainly due to abuse of eye drops, especially the constrictive ones like Visine, Prisoline, etc
Allergic conjunctivitis is WORSENED this way, even short term steroids won't be of much help, we should avoid eye drops for a while, not less then 2 weeks for the eye to be relieved, and we can use systemic treatment like potent Antihistamines (e.g. Telfast 180 mg). Afterward we may commence Antihistamine eye drops like Azelast or Patanol 1 x 3 x 14.
White scales on eye lashes are not infection, either seborrheac or allergic in nature. Infection scales are usually yellow or green, and are crusts more than scales.
To diagnose Glaucoma you should measure the IOP in 3 different days at different times, i.e. day & night.
Field is good way to follow up glaucoma patient, but in my opinion, if you are suspecting glaucoma & you want to be sure of "yes" or "no" diagnosis, then go for OCT. it is more decisive.
