on a turbo you can put it practically anywhere as their is no mechanical link between a turbo and an engine... you can see loads of remote turbo kits
you just need to route the charge\exhaust piping and oil\coolant lines and you are done
on a super charger their should be a link with the engine to power the charger so their is too little places you can use for the charger... i saw a supercharged lanos and the setup clearly showed that their was a ton of parts relocated\fabricated to put the charger on board

An answer for a question I didn't ask :)l
It's widely known that superchargers are easier to install and relatively have less parts than turbochargers....l
VTEC: All of the lag...none of the BOOST :biggrin:l
you needed an elaboration on ease of installation of turbo compared to super charger... and i showed where did the "ease" came from
even if supercharger got less parts... you still have location restriction to be near the belts to be able to drive the charger... on the contrary turbos can be placed anywhere as long as you do the required piping... you are talking about parts count and i am talking about location options
if this is not the question you asked then please clarify your question for me

yes i know about remote installed turbos and we talked about it... but we are now comparing turbo vs. super charger setups as far as installation hassle goes... i am completely lost now

I meant that I know about turbo setup's but my earlier post was about the whole process not the location. How often do you see turbo setup's out of the engine bay ?l
I don't see that placing a supercharger near the engine because of the the drving belt is a limitation or as you expressed it "harder to install" at all
VTEC: All of the lag...none of the BOOST :biggrin:l
it is man... i mean you HAVE to put the super charger aligned to one of the pulleys so it gotta be in the engine bay and lying parallel to the engine block... that is quite a limitation... right?
i didn't see much of them remote turbo installations but i didn't mean going that far... at least yo can move around the engine bay much freely as you are only bound with the piping only
you know i don't favor remote installations for turbo's but i only used them as a means for elaborating my point were turbos are better than supers
